Selfish / Lackadaisical / Can Be Bargained With / Cheerful / Willful and Deliberate
When not 'working', Gaar tends to be extremely lazy and laid back. He finds it hard to take most other people seriously, and it's difficult to whip him up into a fury with offense because he uses a rather self-depreciating form of humor. He tends to be annoyed by people who carry an obvious elitist attitude, and isn't against playing dirty to cut their pride down a notch or two.
Though he was rather hot-headed and aggressive in his youth, he's chilled quite a bit over his travels-- still, his comparatively more mellow disposition makes him no pushover. Surprisingly, he is actually quick to accept apologies and give mercy, though if the offender is stubborn he will remember. Self-preservation is high on his list of motivations, and it's not often that he'll make a sacrifice for one of his peers. He lives off of his hits, targeting shipments of resources and goods that go between Khayun and Lirile. His morals are vague at best, but he tends not to make unnecessary trouble in town when innocents are involved.
He lives simply, but not poorly. Having grown up in the swamplands of Yoryyn, he's quite capable of fishing up his own meals- coin is spent on gear and quarters. Though he's reluctant to wear any full sets of clothes, he understands the usefulness of armor and accessories, and so dresses accordingly.

Gaar was born in Gominelario. In the deeper parts of the swamp, his float was safe and prosperous. Still, he was a willful child, rebellious and discontent with his unexciting lifestyle and restricted home. He had a bad temper towards his siblings, and held an aggressive attitude towards his parents. Eventually, he left, spending several years lurking the waterways of the region of Yoryyn.
His thieving began shortly after he'd left home, first out of necessity. He would target tribes and people close to or travelling on the water, and his childhood of stealthy living served him well as he went. As he became bolder, he began asking for small work or oddjobs in the places he'd arrive at, though it was always hard to find good solid work as a yoryyntaur.
Eventually, he found himself in the region of Guarmi, and following the current of goods and trade, he ended up in the port city of Khayun. With so many resources to pick off nearby and the blackmarket thriving in the city itself, he settled comfortably here.
E X T R A
Likes: Fish, money, drinking, winning, warm baths
Dislikes: Cocky elitists, discrimination (not on himself, but directed towards others), sleeping out in the open, snow and cold
Combat: Height isn't to his advantage, but body weight certainly can be. He's surprisingly deft on land, and even more so in water. His tail is probably makes for the most threatening part of him when unarmed, and he will use it to lash at attackers. As far as blades go, he prefers daggers seeing as swords are too unwieldy for him-- However, though speed isn't a problem for him, agility certainly is (changing directions quickly, particularly on land) and his fighting style tends to be less dodging attacks and more barreling into his opponent and attempting to overwhelm them. He will cling stubbornly, using his extra limbs and the natural tough hide of his lower half to his advantage. When more strategy is necessary, he's quite happy to 'fish' his opponent, using nets to disable and a barbed fishing spear to jab at from a small distance.
-He discarded his birth name after having left home.
-He tends to solve most of his smaller problems by sitting on the troublemaker.
